Sg. Klah Hot Springs, Trolak ~ Dec 30th, 2007
Our whole family went for a weekend get-away at Sg. Klah Hot Springs located at Trolak amidst well-tended oil palm plantation off Sungkai.
We booked the 2-bedroom villa that costs RM600 per night (weekday rate) inclusive of entrance to the Mountain Spring Pool, breakfast and additional mattress. This plantation resort only has in total 5 villas, out of which two are 2-bedroom and three are 1-bedroom. For our group of 7 adults, 1 child and 1 toddler, it fits perfectly!! (we brought 1 foldable mattress and a sleeping bag).
All of us enjoyed this get-away as this family trip is unlike previous whereby we get away to another buzzing town. This is total relaxation as all the villas comes with their own private jacuzzi filled with natural hot spring water!!
The journey to Sg. Klah Hot Springs only took about 1.5 hours. Before reaching Sg. Klah, we went to Bidor town for our lunch where we bought some fruits and fresh lotus seeds.

At the Hot Springs, there’s egg boiling activity, therapeutic park and hot spring family bath. Various temperatures are shown thus you are able to take your pick as to which temperature suits you best for a dip at the family bath spots.
Over at the Mountain Spring Pool, a large Octopus greets you and there’s a wide slide in the middle where children and adults alike has fun sliding down!! The water is cold and clear.

The Hot Spring is worth to go again and the best part, no entrance fee is required unlike the Mountain Spring Pool. However, the highlight is the private jacuzzi that comes with the villa if you intent to stay there.

AHOY Pangkor!!
This year my Company’s Trip (Nov3rd-5th) is at Pulau Pangkor.
Personally, I’ve been there numerous times. So in terms of sight seeing, nothing new to me. However the place that we stayed at deserves a mention.
The resort that we choose is Pangkor Beach Resort (previously known as Pan Pacific). The resort and the view from our room is fantastic. Having it’s own private beach definitely is an advantage.
I’ll definitely give this resort a thought if we are bringing Cavan for a beach holiday as the swimming pool in the resort is lovely. I’m sure he’ll have a blast running after and digging for crabs!!

The photos displayed are captured by my colleagues namely William, Wei Seng and Woon. Excellent photography skills, won’t you agree with me?

Country Villa, Country Heights – Kajang
Went to nearby Kajang for a short weekend get-away. Hubby and myself attended a Health Talk a month earlier and was given a free stay voucher at Country Heights Country Villa.
My mum, aunt and uncle followed us whereas my dad opted to stay back in KL to look after my nephew and niece who is schooling. We booked into Country Villa on Sunday (July 22nd) afternoon and stayed the night there. As the next day Monday (July 23rd) was my mum’s birthday, I baked a batch of cupcakes and had a small celebration there.
Nothing much in the itinerary except to try out the famous Kajang stay. Went to a well known shop “Sate Kajang Hg. Samuri” and boy was I disappointed!! I found that the satay at my mum’s housing area tastes so much much better than here!! Enuf said, this is my personal opinion…well, actually it is the opinion of all of us there except my boy who just enjoys whatever that can be eaten!! hehehe….

5D4N Bangkok, Thailand (May 17th – 21st)
This mark the first vacation both hubby and myself have after the birth of Cavan.
It all started with me having a free stay voucher at Majestic Grande Hotel which was valid until Sept-07. Not having been to Bangkok before and wasting away this voucher, I opted for Bangkok when hubby asked where I want to go if we manage to snatch one of those free seats offered by Air Asia in conjuction of their anniversary earlier this year.
First thought was BANGKOK!!! (although hubby been there before on one of his business trips, he willingly said OK to it, how sweet of him hehehe..)
We booked our seats from Air Asia website, juggling dates and time and finally managed to get it confirm after mid-night!!! Such heavy tracfic going-on in there and we almost gave up trying to snatch the free seats offered.
5D4N turned out to be too long a holiday for us, as both of us do not have the intention of shopping. Everyone kept telling us to bring more dosh ($$), lots of and cheap cheap stuff you can get there, etc etc..
Irony of this trip was 2 days before our departure, so happen I was online chatting with a friend of mine overseas when I received a message from a local friend of ours. Along those how have you been messages thrown back and forth, we found out that they (couple) and us will be in Bangkok during the same period. The only difference is that this couple will be there a day before us, also managed to snatch the free seats offered by Air Asia and their stay would be 4D3N. Arrangement thus has been made to meet each other there (see in KL also seldom meet, but need to go overseas to meet hah!!)
To cut it short, it was arranged that they will book a cab and pick us up from the airport and straight away start our sight seeing.
Our whole trip agenda in summary :
Day 1 – visited Ayuthaya, ruins legacy of a once great empire
Day 2 – visited Damnoen Saduak, floating market
Day 3 – visited the Grand Palace & China Town
Day 4 – changed hotel (Day 1-3 stayed at Twin Towers, Day 4-5 stayed at Majestic Grande)
Day 5 – home sweet home!!
In between those 5 days, we either went to the Siam Paragon (beautiful shopping mall, extremely high class!!), MBK (something like Sg. Wang), Suan Lam night market or just strolling along the streets of Bangkok. Oh yes, we did make a trip to Chatuchak night market, but alas it was beginning to close as we went there too late. Had an uneasy feeling when we reach there as well as the crowd was rather ‘mixed’.
All in all, we enjoyed our trip but felt that the most 4 days would be sufficient. Enjoyed exploring the city on our own two feet, taking their public transport amidst the language problem that we face with them haha…
Oh yah, I also celebrated my birthday there and miss Cavan tremendously and in turn what you get is a high phone bill from calling him each day!!
