I chanced upon this blog that gives away really adorable blog templates. The author is really helpful as well in helping to fix any ‘bugs’ or problems that you may encounter when you try to upload her template to your blog.

Do check out her blog and her cafepress shop (current) before her new shop is launch for some cute adorable items! She is very talented and all her designs are so lovely, I fell in love with them all.

Thank you Gis for all the help. I appreciate it very much :)

Gracias!

Congratulary Wish & A True Story

My friend recently (ahem!, actually on September 7th) gave birth to a baby boy in London.

Was surprised to received her email with pictures of her baby as her due date was towards end of Sept-07. Anyhow after all the congratulatory exchange, I asked her how was her labour (usual conversation for mummies hehe..)

What a shocker when I received her reply. She started with “You will sure laugh at me……” Do you want to guess what happened??

Well to cut the story short but major points remaining, her water bag broke, went to the hospital, contractions came but the cervix did not dilute after several hours. The midwifes sent her home at 2am (unlike here in Malaysia where you will be admitted, I understand that over in UK they sent you home!). Towards 6am plus, she had a slight “show” but as she is extremely tired without much sleep this friend of mine dozed off!!….

She awoken at a sudden when she felt the baby’s head crowning and screamed!! Since the midwifes told her husband and father in-law (FIL) not to panic as usually 1st child labour will take long hours, both the men took their time to get ready (according to her, I did not make this up!!).

Finally their on their way to the hospital (only 10 minutes drive away from where they live) when suddenly my friend felt the baby’s head coming out and told her husband that she’s going into labour NOW! Her husband checked and true enough saw the baby’s head (quarter of it)!!!

He told his wife to push and ONE push is all it takes for Baby Daniel to arrive at the hands of his daddy. Yeah, daddy delivered his own son!! and in the car!!!!

FIL driving the car in case you’re wondering who’s driving the vehicle and it is a Honda :p

Isn’t this an amazing birth story. Never think it could happen to you? think again and be prepared as you’ll never know!!

Congratulations again Andy & Jillian. I admire both of your courage especially delivering your own child!! :D

It’s a SAD day…

I received a call from my dad informing that Pak Su (my 6th aunt’s hubby) suffered a heart attack, admitted to hospital, doctor said he has no pulse and is perfoming CRT on him. My heart really drop to hear such news. He has no history of heart problem only diabetes which is under control. Not long after and another phone call, it is with sadness to hear that he has pass away.

Pak Su is a nice gentleman, patient and a loving husband to my aunt and dad to my two cousins and his grandchildren. I still remember the time when I joined his family to Switzerland where my 8th aunt and her husband is staying for a holiday. From there, we went over to France to Euro-Disney. Still vividly clear in my mind, is that Pak Su has to have rice for dinner as it is his staple food. Western food ‘tak kenyang’ is the remark.

Days when my 6th aunt came over to Kepong Baru (my other aunt’s house) for a game of mahjong, it is with patience that you see my Pak Su waiting for her to finish the game before heading home. Those were the days.

Ironically, today is Monday (April 16th). 6 years back in Year 2001 on Jan 3rd also a Monday, I received call from my cousin saying that my 6th aunt has passed due to cancer. Before and during their funeral, the sky really poured and I remember overhearing some of the makcik’s saying that Heaven is sharing our grieve and sadness thus the heavy rain.

To Lok Yee and Pak Su, I’m sure you are watching over your children and grandchildren from above, peace be with both of you as you are now unite together in Heaven.

May you both rest in peace…

What a bumMer :(

This morning at approximately 8.05am, my beloved City rammed into the car in front of me. The cause of it : a motorcycle served rather sudden into the path of the car in front of me, he applied emergency break and I was not able to break in time and……. BAMM!!! sob sob sob, my poor rather new City, it got hurt :(

The wreakage :

  1. front bonnet got raised up
  2. front bumper got slight scrathes
  3. side of front bumper ‘open’ slightly due to point 1
  4. car alarm went haywire

Aarrrgghhhh!!!! what a BLACK Wednesday.

Lesson learnt : never drive too close to the car in front of you especially near junctions!! and WATCH OUT for motorcycles!!

Not to mention, I got my fair share of lecture and nagging from my beloved hubby who totally forgot to ask whether I’m OK!!! Guess when I started to babble to him the condition of the car, he knows that I’m the usual me!

Beloved City was sent in to Honda Repair centre almost immediately for assessment. Luckily the total bill is not too over the board, if not for sure I’ll get another round of nagging.

For now, I need to find some ropes to tie my tummy as my pockets are full of holes now! What a bummer…

{for the record, this is the 2nd time I met with an accident for all the 10+ years that I’ve been driving. The 1st was rather inexperience when it came to accident and I was fed ‘dead cat’ :( The motorcyclist came out of no-where while I was just turning down into the lane leading to my house. Geezzz; come to think of it, it is another motorcycle and a MALE that I banged into!!!}
